Chemical balance

She takes something in the morning to speed up and something at night to slow down. I know this because she told me during a causal conversation, unprompted. She said it like someone describing their commute.

She's client-side. We can't even escalate without making things political. So my team absorbs it - the brainfarts, the pointless rants, the derails.


The thing is, she's a good soul. Part of me feels sorry for her, but the other part of me is angry. I can't help but wonder if she's just trying to find a way to escape reality. And it just drives her surroundings crazy.

One molecule that turns the volume up. One that turns it down. That this is anyone's daily architecture is the kind of thing I try not to think about too carefully.
